Reflect in Asia

Reflect is operational in several countries throughout Asia, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, East Timor, India, Laos, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Vietnam and Yemen.

Asia Reflect Network
The Asia Reflection Forum has been meeting once a year since 1997 to share experiences, collect material and build solidarity.

Shafique Islam and Teeka Bhattarai are coordinating efforts to improve and formalise reflect networking in Asia. Shafique is working on mapping Reflect work in Asia, while Teeka is concentrating on bringing together practitioners to share learning and develop appropriate materials.

Teeka and Shafique are working to set up an Asian Reflect Network, as endorsed by the Asia group at the CIRAC meeting in Bangladesh. An initial step will be a regional meeting on learning and social justice, planned for late 2004. In addition, it is proposed to hold documentation training for practitioners to enable writing and sharing of stories for a wide audience.
