Reflect in the North

Although Reflect was developed as an approach to literacy and empowerment in developing countries, it has been taken up and adapted over the years for use in a wide variety of contexts, beyond adult literacy (see evolution of Reflect) and outside of the traditional arenas for development work. More recently groups working in the North on issues of poverty, communication, participation and power have seen the relevance of Reflect for their work. This includes groups working on issues from homelessness, race, language and identity, to community planning and urban regeneration processes.
The EuroReflect Network was formed after a workshop held in the Netherlands in 2001. The last meeting, held in Basque Country in May 2004, included participants from Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, UK and the Basque Country. Reflect has also been used in Canada.
